Well met! and welcome to Forgotten Realms Adventures: A Year For Shadows PBEM.
FRA is a modified 3.5 edition Dungeons & Dragons campaign, played through the Yahoo! Groups e-mail service. It is a 'low fantasy'-style game, with magic far less common than in the standard setting, and with a slight emphasis on problem-solving and characterization over combat.
Because game play may include explicit language, traumatic violence, and relatively mature subject material, I must insist that all prospective members be 18 or older. There are no exceptions to this rule. Since my focus is bent exclusively on writers with strong English skills, wit, experience, and talent, it may be worthwhile for younger players to take a good, hard look at their abilities before submitting a character.
That said, I am always open to new submissions, and will cheerfully make room for anybody with the requisite promise, humor, and dashing good looks. All potential applicants are expected to rummage through as many details of the campaign setting as they can stand to, paying particular regard to the modified rules for character creation outlined on this site.
